Working Student Finance / Accounting (m/f/d)

München
Part-time
Intern / Student

Your mission

As a Working Student in Finance / Accounting, you will support our team with day-to-day and preparatory accounting tasks and help ensure that our financial processes run smoothly, accurately, and in a well-structured manner.

This is a permanent working-student position designed for long-term collaboration. Over time, you will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility and deepen your finance expertise. You will work closely with the finance team, management, and our external tax advisors, gaining hands-on insights that go beyond typical working-student support tasks.

What Will You Learn With Us?

You will gain real-world finance experience, not just theoretical exposure. Specifically, you will learn:
  • ✅ how finance processes work in a B2B SaaS company
  • ✅ how ongoing and preparatory accounting is structured and coordinated with external tax advisors
  • ✅ how to create, review, and manage invoices using sevDesk
  • ✅ how receipts, expenses, and payments are processed using tools like Pleo
  • ✅ how monthly reporting is built (P&L logic, cash perspective, shareholder view)
  • ✅ how to create and maintain cash flow forecasts and monitor liquidity across multiple weeks
  • ✅ how revenue is allocated across service periods and properly documented
  • ✅ how accounts receivable and payable management, including dunning, works in practice
  • ✅ how finance processes are documented, structured, and continuously improved
In short: you will learn how finance actually works in practice—structured, transparent, and close to day-to-day operations.

Your Responsibilities

You will support us in the following areas:
  • Assisting with ongoing and preparatory accounting for our external tax advisors
  • Creating invoices via sevDesk and processing incoming and outgoing invoices
  • Managing and reconciling receipts, e.g., expenses, via Pleo
  • Collaborating with our external tax firm and preparing data for DATEV
  • Supporting the monthly shareholder reporting (SuSa-based, partially automated)
  • Creating and maintaining cash flow overviews (12-week forecast)
  • Maintaining the outgoing invoices master file, including revenue allocation and service periods
  • Supporting accounts receivable and payable management, e.g., tracking payments and dunning
  • Contributing to ad-hoc finance projects and the continuous improvement of our internal processes
You will receive structured onboarding, clear templates, and defined points of contact—no “learning by chaos.”

  • Strong interest in finance, accounting, and business processes
  • Very good Excel skills (formulas, clean tables; pivot tables are a plus)

About us

emax digital is an AI analytics company based in Munich. We develop SaaS software that helps global brands manage and scale their Amazon business in a data-driven way – combining deep Amazon expertise with modern AI architecture.

At the core of our platform are AI agents running in production and our own MCP server, which lets customers integrate their emax data directly into Claude and other AI assistants. This puts us among the first providers in the e-commerce analytics space to bring agentic AI and open integration standards into production at scale.

emax was founded by Andreas and Dominik, both former Amazon executives with more than 12 years of experience across the US and Europe. Together, they have built and scaled e-commerce strategies with leading brands in FMCG, Consumer Electronics, Fashion, and Entertainment. Our CTO, Benjamin, leads our AI and technology platform.

Our focus is on Amazon – by far the most complex marketplace – complemented by additional platforms based on customer needs. Our ambition: not just to give brands another tool, but to provide a real competitive edge – through the combination of industry expertise, smart software, and a clear commitment to the next generation of AI applications.
